A Friend to Businesses

We need a State Representative to be a champion for businesses.

It’s unfortunate that a state with such a rich history as ours for inventions and commerce continues to lag behind most of the country in new businesses, job growth, and personal and business wealth.

I fully believe we can quickly regain a competitive edge and simply need a few more advocates for those wishing to start or expand a business.

As your State Representative I will work to eliminate destructive legislation and help craft effective ones.

My plan to help businesses include:

Reduce the Corporate Net Income Tax
Eliminate the Capitol Stock and Franchise Tax Now
Remove the Cap on Net Income Loss
 Stop Prevailing Wage

Reduce the Corporate Net Income Tax
Pennsylvania’s Corporate Net Income Tax is among the highest in the nation and remains a primary reason why businesses do not start or expand in our commonwealth.

At 9.99% it’s the 2nd highest in the nation and the highest for a state of our size or larger.

I will work to enact legislation that reduces our tax rates to be competitive with Delaware.

Eliminate the Capitol Stock and Franchise Tax Now
Currently, the Capitol Stock and Franchise Tax is being phased out. However, because we already know it provided only a deterrence, we simply need to immediately end it.

Given the tough economic times for businesses and their ability to borrow we have an opportunity to immediately help spur growth and should not waste this opportunity.

Remove the Cap on Net Income Loss
Caps on net income loss deter companies from investing and conducting research and development.

Pennsylvania is one of only 3 states to have a cap on net income loss. Enough said.

Stop Prevailing Wage
Prevailing wage deters virtually all businesses from being able to compete on government jobs.

This unfair practice not only directly costs every taxpayer anywhere from 30% to 40% more per project it limits our family and friends from achieving the American dream.

I will remain a vocal advocate to eliminating prevailing wage.
