Protecting Farms
Protecting farming families is a major concern for me. One of the paramount reasons I moved to Chester County was because of the vast farmlands and the salt-of-the-earth folks that operate them.
I will be an advocate for allowing the small farms across Pennsylvania to keep what they earn and to have a fair opportunity to thrive amongst the corporate farms. Additionally, I will be a voice for eliminating the death tax so farms can be transferred to the next generation.
As your State Representative I will work to:
Stop Oppressive Taxation
Recent legislation like the increased taxation for smokeless tobacco hurts farming families. Period.
This is a feel good policy to give the impression that our state is standing up against the big tobacco companies. However, we need to ask ourselves one simple question: Who is next?

Allow Fair Competition
Small farms must be provided every opportunity to thrive. With corporate farms obtaining government subsidies they have an unfair advantage over our local growers.
We need to analyze the positive effects other states and countries have seen since government intervention was stopped.

Stop the Death Tax (Inheritance Tax)
I believe the death tax is the governments’ most unethical tax and must be eliminated.
To prevent this horrific tax, families often sell off all or part of their farm instead of passing it to the next generation. Stealing wealth and destroying a family tradition is not what America is about.
Government has no role in compelling families to make those types of decisions and I will forever champion the end of this practice.
