Meet Jonathan
Jonathan Jenkins was raised in Bucks County and has now called Chester County home for the last 10 years.
Jonathan has served our country his entire adult life. While in high school, he was awarded a fellowship to work with the Department of Defense as a computer specialist.
After a few years of working with the military and watching friends and co-workers go to serve in Desert Storm (the first gulf war), Jonathan felt compelled to do more and signed up for the United States Marine Corps.
Meritoriously promoted in boot camp, Jonathan left Parris Island, South Carolina to then graduate the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, North Carolina.
Afterwards, Jonathan attended Air Traffic Control School in Millington, Tennessee and graduated as the highest-ranking Marine in both the basic Air Traffic Control School and the Marine Air Traffic Control Landing System School.
After spending nearly another year in Millington, Jonathan completed his active duty commitment and became a Reservist where he was promoted three more times and served as both an Air Traffic Controller and Platoon Sergeant.
While a Reservist, Jonathan reentered the workforce as a software developer, seminar speaker, trainer, and business analyst for numerous billion dollar companies, several small businesses, and non-profits.
After September 11, 2001, Jonathan was recalled for over 6 years where he served in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania and then the Logistics Readiness Coordination Center at Headquarters Marine Corps in Washington DC. While back on active duty, Jonathan was promoted to Staff Sergeant and then to Gunnery Sergeant.
In April 2008, Jonathan was finally provided an opportunity to serve in Iraq and became the liaison for the Marine Corps Center for Lessons Learned in the Al Anbar province. After his time in Iraq, Jonathan served a few more months at Headquarters Marine Corps before becoming a Reservist again.
Since leaving active duty Jonathan has been dedicated himself to bringing needed change and leadership to Pennsylvania's 26th Legislative District. Until the election, Jonathan will continue to help protect our country as he lends his analyst and information technology skills in the counter-intelligence community.
You can always find Jonathan volunteering in our community as well. Each year, he works for Marine Corps Toys for Tots and runs the Marine Corps marathon to raise money and awareness for Autism. Additionally, he donates time and money to many local organizations. He also attends the East Brandywine Baptist Church.
In his home township of East Coventry, Jonathan serves as a member of the zoning board and works to elect neighbors who believe in good governance.
With great pride, Jonathan also serves the Republican Party as the Chairman of the Chester County Young Republicans, Secretary for the Area 4 GOP committee, campaign manager, and constant volunteer on political campaigns of all levels.
