Right to Work

Coming from a union family, I obviously respect and recognize a place in industry for them. With my father being a lifetime member of a union, my sisters and I certainly benefited from all they offered.

However, I am opposed to forced unionism and the requirement of non-union members to pay union member dues. Additionally, I am opposed to the The Employee Free Choice Act (AKA card check) because it places businesses at risk.

Every worker in Pennsylvania deserves the right to obtain and hold a job whether or not they belong to a union. Each worker deserves the right to determine if they want to pay dues.

As your State Representative I will support legislation to make Pennsylvania a true Right To Work state. I will also support legislation that curtails / eliminates forced unionism and the compelling of non-union members to pay member dues.

On 23 April 2009, Representative Curt Schroder introduced House Resolution 260 (HR 260) to ask Congress to vote against the Employee Free Choice Act of 2009.

Unfortunately, our State Representative refused to take a stand for the workers of Pennsylvania.

As your State Representative I will fully support HR 260.
